Getting a policy completely backward—writing a child rider or juvenile policy when you explicitly asked for income replacement to protect your family if something happened to you—is gross incompetence. Trying to flip the blame onto you when their own former agent messed up the application is even worse.

Two years ago, I went in to set up a life insurance policy specifically to ensure my family and daughter were protected if something ever happened to ME. The agent who wrote the policy (who is conveniently no longer with the company, and now I see why) completely butchered the setup and wrote it backward—insuring my daughter instead of providing coverage on my life.
When I caught the error and brought it to management, instead of taking accountability for their former agent’s failure, these scumbags tried to turn it around and blame ME for their mistake. Absolutely zero responsibility, zero customer service, and pure corporate sleaze.
I dumped them, went through Policygenius and Ethos, and easily secured the exact high-value coverage I actually needed at a great rate with zero hassle.
Save yourself the head-shaking incompetence, victim-blaming, and wasted money. Stay as far away from State Farm as possible!"
